Love to travel and experience other parts of the world - roads often less travelled... Favourite cities are Cape Town (lived for 17 years) and Berlin. Other favourite places are Koh Samui - Thailand (currently living since 2017), Bordighera -Italy (Riviera dei Fiori), and a Little Karoo farm in Africa. More recently, discovered a gem on the Peloponnese, Greece near Porto Cheli. I believe that life's a journey - not a destination, and more importantly: have NO regrets!
Friedrichshain is a trendy part of former East Berlin bordering Mitte (centre), Prenzlauer Berg and Kreuzberg. Restaurants, Cafes and Bars line the streets as you walk out the door and offer entertainment and cuisine from all parts of the world. The LiDL Supermarket is 250m (3 minute walk) away. Ostkreuz Station 350m (5 minute walk) away, is one of the main connections in Berlin. From here a number of S-Bahn services (S-5; S-7 & S-75) takes you to the centre of Berlin (Alexanderplatz) in only 10 minutes every 5 minutes from Gleis (platform) 8. At Ostkreuz Station you can also get a direct connection to Schonefeld Airport which takes approx. 25 minutes on the S-Bahn (S-9).
