We are a laid back Irish-Polish/German couple. We moved to Berlin about 11 years ago and are really loving it here. It's an amazing city and we are looking forward to sharing our favourite Berlin spots with you. We have prepared an extensive guide book for all our guests with many tips on what to do in Berlin, where to eat and where to go out in the evening. It also has a section for parents and tips for the winter and for the summer. All our apartments are all located in commercial spaces. They are legally allowed by the city of Berlin and do not take away living space from Berlin residents. So you can stay here without having bad a conscious about contributing to the city's housing issues. We are looking forward to hosting you in our apartments!
Centrally located 1 bedroom apartment, perfect for up to 4 guests and people who are looking for an authentic Berlin experience in one of Berlin's most popular neighborhoods. Public transport options are 500m away. The bedroom has a comfortable queen size bed (160x200 cm) and a couch and coffee table and a wardrobe. The kitchen doubles as a second bedroom if necessary and has a sofa bed that can be converted into a bed sized 140x200 cm. The bathroom is accessed via the kitchen, so this might be something you should consider when traveling with friends. The kitchen is equipped with everything that you might need for preparing simple meals, including a and hub, a toaster, french press coffee maker, espresso maker and kettle. There is also a bar with 4 bar stools where you can sit comfortably and enjoy your breakfast. There is usually some tea, coffee, salt etc. in the kitchen. We do not, however, provide these items and do not guarantee that they will be there. Besides that there is also a washing machine and a dryer. The apartment does not have a TV. Bed linen and 1 hand towel + 1 bath towel per person are included.
Our apartment is located on Dunckerstraße 33 in the beautiful and trendy Prenzlauer Berg district, known for its thriving café and art gallery culture. Here you will find plenty of restaurants, kitsch boutiques and alternative-style bars. The popular Kollwitzplatz and Helmholzplatz are only a leisurely 10-20 min stroll away, same as the Kulturbrauerei, an old brewery with shops, nightlife and a free museum about life in the DDR. If you are in Berlin on a Sunday, don't miss the nearby Mauerpark with its large flea market and renowned outdoor karaoke. A must see, especially on a sunny day! Not too far from the apartment is “Volkspark Friedrichshain”. This large and popular park, with a fairytale fountain, film showings and beer gardens, is a nice place for hanging out in the summer. Excellent public transport connections take you into Mitte in about 15 minutes, where you can visit main Berlin attractions such as the Museum Island, the Berlin Cathedral (Berliner Dom) or Hackescher Markt. From there you can walk to the Brandenburg Gate, the Holocaust Memorial and Checkpoint Charlie. A little convenience store and a tasty and affordable Korean restaurant are only meters away.
